What Zoho announced
Zoho’s October 28 DataPrep 3.0 post introduces Agentic Ask Zia for planning and building data-preparation pipelines from a stated goal. The vendor’s lead example combines source data, proposed cleanup and a Zoho CRM destination. Zoho says the steps remain editable and the destination write needs confirmation. These are vendor descriptions, not a workflow we tested.

What to verify before using it
The announcement also describes Python transforms in Code Studio, additional connectors and MCP access for external agents. It does not establish that a particular sales team’s current account includes every illustrated connector or configuration. Confirm access, supported sources and destinations, permissions and commercial terms with Zoho. Performance claims in the announcement are not independent measurements for your data.
A practical sales operations evaluation
Our interpretation: rehearse with fictional event leads before allowing a pipeline to update a CRM. Define stable IDs, property mappings and duplicate rules, and preserve unknown values. Review proposed corrections alongside original values, then check whether the export will create records or update existing ones. The meaningful test is whether the resulting records preserve the buyer context and assigned owner, not simply whether a prompt produces a finished pipeline. Keep any production write under an authorized reviewer’s control.
