Sales management
Build a new-rep sales learning path with AI from approved materials
Organize role-specific sales training into practical exercises, reviewed examples and source-linked answers for a new representative.
Build practice around the work a new rep must perform, not a pile of documents.
Editorial workflow guide · AI-assisted preparation · Not a hands-on product test. How we work
Define the role’s first supervised tasks
Choose a bounded set of tasks for the new representative: prepare an account brief, ask a discovery question, locate approved product evidence or record a buyer next step. Ask the sales manager which tasks matter in this role and which actions require supervision. Do not infer the learning plan from a person’s age, background or other personal characteristics.
Collect current approved materials with owners and version dates. Include product limitations, escalation routes and examples of acceptable records, not just persuasive messaging. Ask AI to map each task to the specific material needed to practice it. A missing source should become a question for enablement rather than a generated training answer.

Turn reading into a small practice sequence
For each task, specify source reading, a fictional scenario, expected artifact, observable review criteria and a coach. Keep practice data separate from actual prospect and customer systems. A roleplay can test whether a rep asks an appropriate clarification question without requiring live outreach or access to private account records.
In a fictional onboarding exercise, the buyer asks whether an integration is included. The approved material describes an optional connector in a specific edition. The expected behavior is to locate the source, retain the limitation and route any unresolved detail to the product owner. A fluent invented answer should not pass because it sounds commercially confident.
Review learning gaps and maintain the materials
Have a coach discuss the artifact with the learner and check whether the exercise itself was clear. Record the next practice step and any outdated material that needs correction. Separate a training-content problem from a learner’s mistake. Do not turn AI-generated feedback into an automated employment rating, certification claim or decision about someone’s job.
HubSpot Academy’s sales management training includes building training and onboarding programs around the sales process. This proposed task map is independent of any course completion credential. Keep a named enablement owner, review product changes before reusing an exercise and retire superseded examples. Evaluate the pilot by whether the coach can verify the expected behavior and the learner can find the correct evidence, not by promising a shorter ramp or improved quota attainment.
Review checklist
- Choose actual role tasks with the manager.
- Use approved current materials and named owners.
- Practice with fictional scenarios and explicit criteria.
- Have a coach review the artifact with the learner.
- Keep training feedback separate from employment decisions.

A prompt to adapt
Create a supervised learning path for this sales role from these approved materials. Return task, source/version, fictional exercise, expected artifact, observable criteria, coach and missing material. Do not invent product claims, infer personal traits, score employment suitability or send live outreach.
