Use AI to build a buyer-centered product demo agenda
Translate agreed evaluation questions into a focused demonstration plan with evidence, limitations and explicit follow-up ownership.
A useful demo shows how the buyer can evaluate a requirement; it does not pretend every requested capability exists.
Editorial workflow guide · AI-assisted preparation · Not a hands-on product test. How we work
Use the buyer’s evaluation questions as inputs
A demonstration is not simply a shorter discovery call or a tour of every feature. Begin with the questions the buyer has agreed to examine, the intended audience and the current approved product capabilities. Record which questions are confirmed and which were suggested by the seller.
Salesforce’s customer-centric discovery learning material emphasizes developing solutions with customers. The agenda proposed here applies that orientation to demo preparation; it is not a vendor-generated script or evidence that a particular product meets the buyer’s requirements. Keep unresolved fit questions visible before planning a polished presentation.

Map each segment to observable evidence
For every agenda item, list buyer question, scenario, approved demonstration environment, evidence to show, known limitation, presenter and follow-up owner. Use fictional or authorized demo data. Do not use real customer information just because it makes a demonstration look realistic.
Ask AI to propose the order and identify gaps between the question and the evidence. The product specialist decides whether a capability can be demonstrated and whether a workaround should be shown. A simulated screen, manual intervention or planned feature must be identified as such rather than presented as current automation.
Prepare a fallback for the requirement you cannot show
For a fictional reporting product, the buyer asks whether two data sources can refresh together. If your approved demo environment contains only one connector, the agenda should include a specialist follow-up rather than an invented live integration. The presenter can show the verified portion and clearly state what remains unvalidated.
Set aside time for the buyer to react to the evidence and correct the scenario. Capture whether the demonstration answered the question, raised another question or did not address the need. Positive comments alone do not establish technical acceptance or permission to advance the deal.
Review the agenda and the outcome separately
Before the meeting, have the account owner and demonstrator check claims, data, timing and responsibilities. Afterward, compare the planned evaluation questions with what was actually covered. Preserve unanswered items with an owner and the buyer’s requested next step.
Pilot on a few demos and measure unsupported claims, missed evaluation questions, follow-up clarity and preparation effort. Do not judge the workflow only by presentation length or how many features were shown. AI can help create a coherent agenda, while the people conducting the demonstration remain responsible for its accuracy.
Demo-agenda checklist
- Confirmed buyer questions drive the agenda.
- Every segment has evidence, presenter and known limitations.
- Demo data is fictional or authorized for that audience.
- Simulations, workarounds and roadmap items are labeled.
- Unanswered questions have an approved follow-up owner.
A prompt to adapt
Draft a product demo agenda from these confirmed evaluation questions and approved capability documents. For each segment show scenario, evidence, presenter, limitation and follow-up owner. Separate seller suggestions and unsupported requests. Do not invent functionality, use private customer data or describe a simulation as a live capability.
Use fictional or anonymized examples while testing. Add your approved business rules before using a draft.Source documents
