Salesforce adds agent cost controls, with new evaluations still ahead

The October 27 Agent Fabric announcement separates available cost controls from evaluation features planned for beta and later general release.

Announcement: · Mixed availability; evaluation beta planned for November

What Salesforce announced

Salesforce’s October 27 announcement adds Agent Evals, API Evals and cost controls to Agent Fabric. The vendor describes quality checks, API testing and spending limits across agent environments. These are vendor claims, not capabilities we tested.

Which pieces are available

Salesforce lists the FinOps Dashboard, Model Wallet, Cost Optimization Policies and ordinary Agent Kill Switch as generally available now. Agent Evals and API Evals are scheduled for November 2026 beta and January 2027 general availability. The triggered version of the kill switch is also scheduled for January. Confirm commercial access, configuration and rollout details with the provider; an announcement is not entitlement under an existing Sales subscription.

What this means for a sales operations team

Our interpretation: teams running sales agents should evaluate output quality and spend together. A cheaper run is not useful if it produces an unsupported customer commitment. For an initial review, name the agent owner, define one unacceptable output, establish who can pause work and document the manual fallback. Check how a spending stop affects unfinished customer tasks. This is an evaluation question, not a recommendation to buy an enterprise control platform or a demonstrated sales outcome.
