What HubSpot announced
HubSpot’s October 15 company announcement describes account, feature and action credit limits, self-service seat-to-credit changes and credit packs or pay-as-you-go purchasing. This reports the vendor’s published offering, not a feature test or a claim that every control first launched that day.

Check the account before relying on a default
The accompanying credit documentation distinguishes automatic upgrades from pay-as-you-go, including different defaults for additional credits purchased before versus on or after September 16, 2026. Verify your contract, seat entitlement, configured limits, reset date and actual billing mode. The announcement is not evidence that a legacy account automatically switched billing arrangements.
What sales operations can do next
Our take: list the actions a research or prospecting pilot will trigger, then set a reviewed operating budget and a manual fallback for paused work. Keep usage forecasts separate from observed charges and sales results. We have not tested these controls or confirmed settings for a customer account.
